Well hello there!

I'm Cathy, a novelist, non-fiction author, Telegraph journalist, cycling commentator and editorial consultant.

I spent more than ten years as a staff journalist for a range of weekly and daily newspapers and magazines. I cut my teeth on the local press then joined a daily newspaper covering general elections, murders and manhunts, the aftermath of the July 2005 bombings and national-level court cases and human interest stories.

Eventually I moved into magazines and began to ascend the editing ladder. In 2011 I left my role as deputy editor of PRWeek, the bible of the UK PR industry, to have my first child. The same year my first book, Brilliant PR, was published under the name Cathy Bussey.

Since leaving full-time staff employment I have had a second child, published two more books (What To Do When You Win The Lottery, 2012 and The Girl's Guide to Life on Two Wheels, 2013 both published under Cathy Bussey) and written regularly for The Telegraph and Telegraph Weekend as well as Red Online, Total Women's Cycling and a range of other women's lifestyle and cycling publications and websites. I have been featured on Hello Giggles, BBC Radio 4's Today Programme and a range of regional BBC and commercial radio stations talking about cycling and lifestyle issues, and I have appeared on This Morning and Sky News discussing cycling, lifestyle and parenting.

My debut novel, Summer at Hollyhock House, was published in August 2018 by Sapere Books. I'm a member of the Romantic Novelists Association and represented by Isabel Atherton at Creative Authors.

I currently work as part-time content editor for Girl Effect, a creative nonprofit empowering girls through media, mobile and brands.

I live in the leafy SW London/Surrey borders. I love writing, reading, pondering on as well as experiencing motherhood, taking photographs, running, cycling, yoga, surfing, time outdoors, gardening, journalling and drinking tea.
